SideEye: Performance Evaluation For Fenestrated Endovascular Aneurysm Repair Procedures

چکیده
Fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair presents a significant technical challenge in cases involving complex anatomy. This complexity often leads to difficulties target vessel cannulation, prolonged procedure time, and increased fluoroscopy radiation exposure. To address these challenges, this paper aims design, develop, assess novel steerable catheter, the SideEye (Fig 1), compare its performance that of conventional catheters thoracoabdominal aortic phantom model. Seven users were asked perform cannulation using catheter two (one non-steerable one steerable) under fluoroscopic guidance. The study was designed with experimental cases: aligned misaligned stent graft orientation. primary outcome measures for total time individual times. Exposure times also recorded exposure associated each catheter. In case, average all vessels 703 ± 274 seconds 517 309 199 91.0 2). analyzed case. had an 12 4.6 minutes, 8.6 4.1 3.0 1.1 minutes These results indicate difference between (P < .05). Overall, findings demonstrate significantly reduced both overall compared catheters.Fig 2Average vessels, orientation, catheter.View Large Image Figure ViewerDownload Hi-res image Download (PPT)

Computational Simulations of Fenestrated Endovascular Aneurysm Repair
Fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair is a minimally invasive method to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms. Stent grafts used in this process contain fenestrations that need to be aligned with the visceral arteries; however, fenestration misalignment (rotation) is a common occurrence and can result in severe complications. The objective of this work is to develop a finite element model of the ...
متن کاملComparable mid-term survival in patients undergoing elective fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair and endovascular aneurysm repair for abdominal aortic aneurysm
OBJECTIVE To evaluate mid-term survival in patients undergoing elective fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair and standard endovascular aneurysm repair for abdominal aortic aneurysm. METHODS Consecutive patients treated from 2007 to 2011 with elective fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair (n = 81) and endovascular aneurysm repair (n = 201) were evaluated concerning age, cardiovascular m...
متن کاملPrecannulated Fenestrated Endovascular Aneurysm Repair Using Guidewire Fixator
OBJECTIVE By using a guidewire fixator, the distal guidewire position can be secured in an artery. This new principle enables a method for fenestrated endovascular aortic repair where the connection between the aortic branches and the stent graft fenestrations is made before inserting and deploying the stent graft. METHODS This is conducted using a fenestrated stent graft with preloaded cathe...
متن کاملPararenal aortic aneurysm repair using fenestrated endografts.
OBJECTIVE We performed a systematic review of the current literature to analyze the immediate and follow-up results of fenestrated endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (F-EVAR) in patients with pararenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs). METHODS The Medline, Embase, and Cochrane databases were searched to identify all studies reporting F-EVAR of pararenal AAAs published between January 2000 a...
متن کاملFenestrated and branched endovascular aneurysm repair outcomes for type II and III thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms.
OBJECTIVE Thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) repair remains a challenging clinical pathology. Endovascular technology, in particular the evolution of fenestrated and branched (F/B) endografts used in endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) has provided a less invasive method of treating these complex aneurysms. This study evaluated the technical and clinical outcomes of F/B-EVAR for extensive ...
